Not sure why I think NOW is the time to work on this.
I've tried something new. Instead of pictures by other artists to inspire me on my computer desktop slideshow, I put WIPs of pictures I want to finish.
This just so happens to be one of the seven pictures on that slideshow.
Somehow I painted this far in about 45 minutes from the sketch:
2 Things I see right away are: The front legs are placed too far forward on the body. Makes it look kind of stretched. The top joint on the back legs (heel? knee? I don't know anatomy) is too far down. I believe the length of the legs is good, but they look short and awkward because of this.
I'll disagree with that 1st part, since that is in line my own way of doing things.
But that 2nd part did bring to my attention I "over corrected" the hind legs a bit too much like my canines/vulpine/felines from the horrid official Pokemon art (out of habit). Thankfully you pointed this out early enough that it is still practical to fix.
