Minecraft Espeon Mob v-1

Description

If you ever doubted I could program, let this put that to rest. A fully functional Espeon in Minecraft. In its current state, it can do everything a cow can do, minus sound and breeding *which I purposely removed*. It even drops beef and leather right now when you kill it *easy to change though*. =P

As you can see, this is a lot more complicated of a model than the wolf or cat. But in all, this took me one week and one day to do. And I might add I only started looking at Minecraft coding the day I started this.

Some people may have seen a nicer looking version of this through IM's but I had to dump the design because the coding for character animations, such as the head, does not accept multiple parts to animate together nor do turning the parts at angles work either in rendering.

I always said the worst part of programming is knowing what the code can and can't do. And is one of the most important reasons I have picked up mod development so I can get more experience in working with per-existing/inherited code.

My eventual goal is to make something more clever than a Pokemon game carbon copy like the developer of "Pokemobs" is doing. I'm also working completely independent of SeaGoingManitee. He probably does not even know I exist. And no, I cannot look at his coding. I tried, but every time I tried to decompile it failed. I don't intend on using any of his models or textures either.

Keep your eyes peeled! I just got a copy of Adobe Premier Pro less than half off. So I might start a YouTube presence.

My first time ever working in digital 3-D. The model is comprised of 21 box shapes. Compare that to the wolf which is made of 11 box shapes.

Tools Used to make this Espeon:
Mod Loader 1.2.5
Audio Loader 1.2.5
Techne for 3-D design and coding transcription and texture blueprint
Photoshop CS5 for the texture
Eclipse Indigo for coding
