A Practice Leafeon Model

I happen to be looking at pictures on my cloud storage when I noticed my old Sylveon model pictures. Then for some reason I remembered I did this Leafeon back in January.

I made this back then because I had just released my Minecraft modification and I thought it had flopped. So had ThnxCya not made that featured video of my mod, I might have dumped the whole hostile modification all together.

I point out the feature from ThnxCya specifically because I didn't like any of the other features compared to his. His gave good visual attention to the models and I didn't feel my work was mocked. (note: I have not actually browsed looking for mod reviews of my mod, only the ones I hear through word of mouth, although ThnxCya did address me directly when he made his, naturally making his the first review I saw).

I'll try and contact him for a review when I get around to Alpha 1.0. Since the update already has at LEAST 14 considered mobs for it, it could certainly make it much, much more impressive than the mod ever was. Other things considered for Alpha 1.0 are some simple blocks and items. I did not want to touch items and blocks until 1.7.2 since major updates have a nasty history of making blocks and items break or disappear.

No, this Leafeon model does not mean I am suddenly gonna try and do tamables. I am just posting this old, forgotten model. I am now experienced enough to know it has many nasty issues to it that will mess up its texture.

Plus I think I can do better than what I have here with what I know now. After all, the tamable Pokemon are supposed to be the best of the best models of the modification, or at least reasonably. I do have to be somewhat mindful of how complicated I make models.

I have never played the modification Pixelmon, but a modeler of theirs, , mentioned that some of their (now older) models were so complicated that they caused system performance issues. I started to panic a little bit while finishing up the Alpha 0.4 update of Disciples of Corruption because I was noticing some performance issues on both my laptop and my desktop.

Though now I do not seem to have those problems.

Anyways, I bring that all up because I cannot be super detailed with the models when I get to tamables. Instead, I just need to be smarter. Make them seem more impressive than they really are. I certainly know a lot more today than I did back when I made this Leafeon model 5 or so months ago.
